Wondering about yet another thing. When I moved in here I realized my old TV is just way to big and have been keeping my eye on LCD's. Now that I am ready I am told some can take regular cable, some can't. Turns out the one I decided on can't but if you get the HDTV box... So I called Shaw to see what changing my service would cost and was happy to hear it would only be $2/mo however the box costs $450!
Well, that is a hammer of larger proportions than I had anticipated and there is no way I am paying $450 for a box for a TV I would watch about 10% of my TV watching time (most of which is in my office while I am on the computer). I do like it when I can lay on the sofa and watch something so would like a TV of some sort in there. Trouble is the only place I can think of putting one is in my cabinets and they are about 10" X 32" X 30", so pretty shallow.
I can regroup and get an LCD for cable but I've heard the picture is crap. No way to see in the stores as they have them all on HD. Does anyone have, or have you seen, an LCD with regular cable? I don't think I want to pay for a new TV if the picture is awful. If it's comparable to what I have now which is basic, fine.
