Has anyone who uses Shaw cable heard of the changes they are making next week? I can't wait till their offices are open again to find out what is actually going on but from what I can understand on Wed. if you don't already have or buy their HDTV box ($90 per TV as I understand it) you will no longer be able to get some channels like HGTV and 8 others (well I'm out 8 others in Calgary and apparently this does not affect Vancouver). This, of course does nothing to get better reception on my HD TV since that requires the digital box which cost 4 times the price.
I'm a little PO'd thinking I will probably be losing some channels vs paying $270 (3 TV's) and I'm just betting my monthly bill won't reflect me losing those channels given the info they have on the site.
The other thing I don't know for sure is what that does to operating a VCR/DVD since my brother and SIL have the box and can not record one channel while watching another.
Anyone know anything about this? Anyone have ideas of other service I can use that will allow me to use different channels on different TV simulatiously for a reasonable price? Shaw has annoyed me a few times over the years so I would be happy to have them out of my house, just not sure what direction I should go. I think the options here are telus or satellite.

Apparently the changes are everywhere Shaw serves except Vancouver although I have no idea how far they go across Canada.
that doesnt sound good DBD....my brother is here from Calgary for a short bit but he will be going back, i must fill him in on the changes as i know he did have Shaw Cable when he was there.....uggg!
