I have been wanting to get an awning for some time now but the prices made it impossible. Anyway, Home Depot has them on sale right now for $149.00!!! We put it up this weekend hoping that we would get more outdoor time given all the rain we have been having lately.
I am so happy with the quality of this awning. Good buy for those looking. I have attached a photo of our new awning on the front deck. 12 X 8. They also had 5 by 8 and ones with motors.

It looks like the same as you, but i cann't make certain
You better go fast. I was in my local HD the other day and there were only 2 left. I cannot tell you the number of times that this has already come in handy. Our reasoning being rain since we are desperately waiting for sunshine!
Wow - that looks great. An awning like that would work really well on my deck.
It would be great to shade my kitchen windows on hot days - but I like the light at other times so I've always been reluctant to do something out there.
I'm going to have to take a trip to Home Depot.
I really like that idea! It suits your outdoor space very well, too. :)
I love the ferns in you picturre. Are they real?
Yes they are real. I gave up on hanging flower baskets a few years ago and these are the same ferns that I have had since then. I give them to a teacher-friend to put in their classroom during the year since she has great natural light and her students seem to enjoy caring for them. I love the effect they give to the space.
Again, my post appears above the post that I am responding to....wuz up with that!!!
What a great buy! I've always wanted one of those for our deck off the kitchen.

Yep, a roller blind is the perfect comparison. It retracts (rolls) back in as a roller blind would. So you turn the crank handle which is extremely easy....no work....and in it wraps around the pole mounted and attached at the wall. It basically disappears.
Yesterday when we had a fine mist rain we were able to sit outside and enjoy our coffee without having to go in.
Bugs me that there is still this glitch of posts jumping around like this. I read your post, responded and now my post appears above yours.
Does it lie flat against the house when it is down or does it roll itself up somehow like a roller blind? I've never seen one in action before.
Nope, it just rolls in as a retractable awning. It has a little crank affair that you use, very simple and easy to use. They have motorized versions that are only 50 dollars more but I really did not want to deal with a motor.
I am loving it.
Arizona, look in this photo to the left hand side and you can see the crank-pole that you use to bring it back in.
How does it work? It looks like it folds in half maybe.
