Ok Everyone....

So my best friend had a baby about a week ago, (he was a month early) so there is a shower today, that was planned months ago, before we knew that the little guy would already be around. So here is thing, my big delima, she has already had one baby shower, and got EVERYTHING ... Plus I already gave her a really cute gift while she was in the hospital.... So now I have to go shopping this morning to get something for the shower but I have no idea what to get???????

Can anyone suggest something ?????

TIA

The other thing I should have mentioned is that I am totally PO'd at my best friend, she never even said thank you for the gift I gave her in the hospital, she didn't remember to call on my first day of my new job to ask how it was and basically seems to think only of her self since she got preggers .... I had the absolute perfect gift picked out to match the nursery, an elephant piggy bank from Tiffany's that match the room perfectly.. But now I don't feel like getting it for her.

The friend has just had a first baby . I am sure she is overwhelmed at this point with the birth being early to boot.
Give this new Mom some time to adjust......if you and her are good friends you should understand her and be more understanding. Do not act childish and buy the gift you had decided on before she did not say thank you to you. I am sure she has manners, so she forgot in all the excitement of her new son. No big deal.

I would get something for her... she has a lot of baby stuff but getting something for her would be nice...maybe something she can use with the baby....maybe one of those foot massage bath thingys.. I know with ours the best thing was getting diapers and formula as gifts....man that stuff adds up

edit....just read you po'd comment... shes a friend right? well get her the perfect gift and get the piggy bank... friends are a good thing :) what friend doesnt get po'd from time to time... make it a nice moment and get her something you put thought into...GET THE PIGGY

Just remember that you friend doesn't mean to ignore you but right now it is all about the baby, I would give that gift and maybe a GC for herself for either a pedicure or at her hair salon. Something that isn't for to long of a time as she may not want to be away from the baby for to uch time yet so 1/2 hour treatment will be enough.

something like a Christmas Decoration or item that says Baby's First Christmas.
And don't be too hard on your friend. Remember the overwhelming feelings that come with childbirth.

although it may seem boring...every mother appreciates either immediate necessities for the baby....like diapers, spit up blankets, undershirt vests, and diaper cream...you can also get the mother something for her...I loved the Milk bath powder from the Body Shop........................remember those days when you never got dressed because the baby had you so busy.......well she may appreciate a little time out even if it is just in the bathroom...........good luck............ :D
