We are finally home!, We actually got home last Thurs, but left for camping on Friday soooo been very busy getting back to doing laundry etc.
Anyhoo, We had a blast in New York City!, Our hotel was great, swimming pool (which we needed badly), my goodness the temp's where 115F with the humidex, yes we where in New York the week of the terrible temps. Our hotel had free parking (you don't get that in Mathattan!) and just a few blocks from Times Square as well. The drive there was good we made it in just over 9hrs. not including stops for pee breaks etc heheh.
We did the tour bus thing, thank goodness for a/c on that bus. We saw many sites, visited Ground Zero, & the chapel where the fire fighters & police & volunteers stayed after 9/11 happened very sad, read many notes from children & the public for thanking the fire fighters & police for efforts durning that sad time. Saw the dakota building where John Lennon was shot down and saw the "imagine" memorial in Central Park where ppl visit every day to place strawberries, flowers etc, ppl come there to just sit and reflect..............
Went to "Top of the Rock" (Rockefellar Centre) and watched the Today Show being filmed there. Oh Oh and can't forget while me and dh where just walking around on our own, saw them filming Law & Order, and guess who i not only spoke too but got a picture of.............BIG yes BIG from Sex in the City his real name is Chris North, i couldn't believe it was him, just standing there and not to many ppl around at that time, so we where able to get a good look at him, my goodness he is a lot younger looking than he looks on t.v. Wow he is soooooooo cute heheheh That part was worth the trip by itself heheheheh
As for shopping we went to Macy's and i bought 2 pillows but nothing else, i looked for a new bedding set but didn't see one i liked enough plus we where shopping with my brother & sister-in-law and did not want to hold them up so we left to go other places. We had a blast shopping in China Town for Knock off purses, Geeze they have all these Gucci, Louis V, Chanel, etc. purses behind hidden walls, up stairs and the first time i went to buy a purse the lady had me and dh follow her down this alley and then she looked down the alley for the police and then she rolled up a steel door and in we went just me my dh and her and then she closed this steel door behind us and there was all these purse's hanging up, you have to barter for your purse, it was kinda funny so i bought 2 and then my sister-in-law also wanted to get a Knock Off purse soooo off we go again (into the heat again) and look at more purses, omg so many to choose from, she ended up buying 3 and i bought 3 more so i bought 5 purses altogether. It was fun. Then we lined up at TKTS (discount place for broadway show tickets) and got half price tickets for "The Wedding Singer" That was a fun musical for sure. We all enjoyed it even the men. Boy the time sure goes fast when you only have 4 days to tour around and especially in that heat! We where sweating the minute we walked outside, and what a busy busy place Times Square is OMG the people, the taxis, the cars! and yet not even one fender bender! Well i am sure i am leaving something out but at least it's a start, hope everyone enjoys reading this, and doesn't get bored! i know it's a long story but i wanted you all to hear what an exciting time we had in Manhattan, Ohhhhhh wait we also took the Staten Island Ferry (it's free) to see the Stature of Liberty, she's a great lady! And also took in a Yankee's game against the Jay's, the Jay's lost tho, that's too bad. Oh and the subway ride home from Yankee stadium was exciting too, we had these kids clear a path so that they could break dance while we where riding the subway! We felt very safe in New York, police on every corner and everyone was very nice and helpfull as well. Ok that's it i will close for now this time heheh Enjoy my long winded letter :D
