I painted my hall bathroom a medium shade of lemon yellow (accent color of navy) to brighten it up as the only natural light is from a skylight. The hallway and the rest of the living area is painted 'African Violet', a dusky, medium shade of violet.
A decorator came to measure for shades and saw the bathroom. She politely recommended that a muted yellow (yellowish/gold) might coordinate better with the violet. I really liked the color initially, but now have no confidence and feel I've made a mistake and should repaint according to her suggestion.
Before I take on such a task, I thought I would get input from others. I have a picture of both colors that I can email if anyone would like to see them.

Looking at the colours on BMs website, they look lovely. Yellows always look darker/more neon on the wall than on the paint chip (believe me, I know! I have lots of yellow walls in my house!). I wonder if crème fraiche 2023-70 would give the look you were going after? It will look darker when it's on the wall.
Hello!
Your colour choice for a violet and yellow is a lovely combination. If I may say, I would agree with your decorator, as 2023-30- butter is probably a bit too bright. Choosing yellows is very hard and choosing a brighter yellow than intended is very common! However, if YOU like the yellow then stick with it:) Your home is your personal sanctuary and you have to feel wonderful throughout. If you are considering other options, I might recommend: HC- 5 weston flax, cc-190 summer harvest or AF-330. But it is so hard to tell, as I have not been in the space.
Best of luck, Robin:)
Forgot to add that these are Benjamin Moore paints and can be found on their website. The hall is #2116-50 / African Violet; the bathroom is #2023-60 / Butter.
Here's a pic of my colors. The yellow is a little brighter probably because the bathroom is small and the walls reflect off each other & mirror. Both are bright here due to photo flash.
