BBQ Help

I'm planning a bbq for my coworkers. I'm heading back to school so I'd like to keep my costs down, but this is a way of getting everyone together as a going away/thank you and I don't want inexpensive to come across as cheap. I thought I'd serve appetizers (I have some ideas), bbq chicken & potatoes, grilled veggies and a salad.

Any ideas to make this seem less boring? Marinades for the chicken?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! I rarely entertain, but these people are important to me!

at our staff bbq last summer our boss served bbq sausages-had them sliced them up & served them as an appetizer.

are a great idea and I love potatoes done in foil the way you described!

I'll check M&M's on my way home tonight - thanks!

M&M meats has a sale on right now and they have some great bbq items. How about some sishkobobs (sp)? We're also having a bbq for our son's first b'day and we are also looking for food to serve on a budget. Sausages are another item that are inexpensive but usually go over well. Maybe some corn on the cob cooked on the bbq with the potatoes? When we do potatoes on the bbq we cut the potato and add butter, garlic, salt and pepper and then wrap in foil. These always go over really well!

Good luck!
