In BC we have Govt. car insurance that we call ICBC well you can buy the extra insurance from a private compnay you must buy basic from them. Today was renewal day so DH went in and took in the quote we got from Canadian Direct for the extra coverage and the agent at the ICBC office had a look. She did a quote for the same coverage and Canadian Direct was $550.00 for the year and ICBC is $952.00 she was very surprised at the price difference. It pays to shop around but Canadian Direct will only insure accident free drivers.
