They just mentioned this on the news and I think it's a great idea. You can check apartments, hotels, etc. that have been reported to have bed bugs. Hopefully that helps avoid them when moving or travelling.
What's getting scary is they said people are starting to pick them up in planes, theaters, schools etc. and they really don't have poisons to control them right now. So if you bring them home they can be a real problem to get rid of.

Actually, bed bugs are quite often found in hotels, even in 5 star hotels. I don't think you can have a bed bug inspection every day, and they can be easily transmitted either by passing visitors or viceversa.
Let's not be quick to start demolishing hotels, after all these are little insects, pests we are talking about. Here's an article on articlebase about how you can kill bed bugs.
Wow, this is very useful.. Thanks for sharing this and hoping I could implement it too.
Interestingly enough (well at least to me) was today I had some people in to help me get rid of some things in this house and they told me that charities are no longer interested in any furniture that has a fabric covering. They said people won't usually buy it any more for fear of bugs etc. So a perfectly (well almost) office chair and a rocker get to go to the dump I guess. Talk about taking up landfill.
Oh man, that and catching TB so easily I almost wish I lived in a bubble.
that is sooo gross....but very helpful!
