Hi,
I need help decorating my living room. I'd like to add pillows and decor to what I have but I'm totally clueless when it comes to decorating. I was thinking of beige to lighten everything up, pictures, lamps colours? I have no idea what to do. The only thing I can't add is a rug because my husband says "why would we put a rug on a floor that we just replaced with hardwood?" Which is true.

Hehe, you won't like to hear it, but I do agree with Mrs. Peacock — a rug will definitely be helpful in defining the seating area. It'll also be nice to rest your feet on when sitting down, too! The cabinet and side table are pretty cool. Personalizing the room with artwork, pillows, lamps, etc. will help, too.

I know you just put down hardwood floors but I really think you need an area rug to define the sitting area. It is amazing how a room can change with a rug. Buy one from a store you can return it to and just try it. I see that you are asian inspired. I would suggest moss greens, darker yellow shades as colours for the rug, pillow, lamp shades, curtains, etc.
