Well I love it! No complaints yet, and I've had two surprises this week. Two perenials that I'd planted last year just came up. I really thought that they weren't coming it, as it is so late in the year already. I was thinking that maybe the added warmth from the black mulch absorbing more sun encouraged them to grow?

I LOVE our black mulch, too. Both our annuals and perrenials are doing great with it, and it is in the very front garden that gets sun all day long. It has faded, of course, over the season, but it is still dark so that our plants have lovely contrast. :)
The mulch may have done it, it has been a cool spring and summer with just a few hot days. Is this the Canadian Tire mulch!! I have been watching and thinking about it. I put in the red mulch (which according to experts is a NO NO), because your flowers are to be the focal point) and I like it as it matches our brick but I think the black would make the flowers "pop". The mulch breaks up well and each year we keep adding. Please post pictures.
