I have a small home office and I have a desk that is an Oak colour.(not real wood) I have been looking for a bookcase to match and there do not seem to be many this colour. What would you suggest that I use? I have seen some pine either in an antique stain or a very dark brown. Do you think either of these would be acceptable?
Thank you.

Hello Debi66,
If you're still stuck, take at look at some of our home office photos on Houseandhome.com: http://www.houseandhome.com/search/content?filter0=office&filter1[]=photo As you scroll through them, you'll notice that many of the offices have mix-and-match furniture. And if you still can't find a bookcase that goes with your desk, you can always choose a glass model, like these ones from Structube: http://structube.com/en/catalogue?page=shop.browse&category_id=630.
Hope this helps!

You can definetly have different shades of wood furniture together. I would be careful though having too many woods in the same room. If it were me, I would probably lean towards the darker colour of wood or even black. Black or dark would also help ground the room.
