Can you use marine paint on a piano?

[FONT=Arial]We inherited a lovely old grand piano from my in-laws. The insides are in top shape, but the finish on the outside is a wreck. Can't afford a professional refinisher, so I was wondering if marine paint would be a good idea. Any suggestions?

I would never paint a piano as the wood may change with the moisture from the paint and then the sound would change. If you can't refinish it I would spend the time to sand and stain it but first have it looked at by a piano expert before doing anything to it.

I checked the date to see if it was April 1. Sorry, don't mean to be rude but I think my heart rate accelerated when I read the post. Please don't paint your piano ...
