Morning I have a question regarding the best caulking to use for our crown moulding. Anyone use a 'certain' type of caulking something that is easy to use and apply! tia

My DH uses DAP windows/doors- Acrylic latex caulk plus silicone. It also says ALEX PLUS on it. You need to use a caulking gun with this.

(DH is a lic. carpenter) He uses this kind all the time. Hope this helps. :D

We use DAP too. No problems there. It is paintable, flexible, mildew resistent and easy clean up with water.

I've used joint compound and filler (like Poly-Filla) and both cracked over time. It is better to use caulking because it expands and contracts and, therefore, is less likely to crack. I prefer "DAP" caulking. It comes in a red squeeze tube so you do not need a caulking gun. You should be able to find it in the paint section of your hardware store.

I remember hearing that it is paintable caulking that you'd use.
