Did anyone watch today? I thought Christine did a good job.

I went to the Cityline Website but I couldn't see where to direct my comments about the show...... Where do I look?? Thanks!

According to the cityline forum (which has nothing but comments on the hosts lately), the one on today usually is on a sports show or something. I have no idea who any of them other than Jessica Holmes are (hey if they hired her they could have a guest shot with Holmes on HOmes doing homeday hosted by HOlmes...) because apparently they are all Toronto locals.

i only seen about 15 mins today, the chef was on and the host they had today was far better than Liz, she didnt interupt and had far more class in the way she dressed. Im not sure, but i wonder if its the same girl that does Breakfast Tv.

I sent my response in to Cityline as well.

I just can't understand why they keep using her as a guest host when she is so frustrating. Surely they can see it as well.

I did comment on the attire and the fact that we couldn't understand or even hear the guests and what they were trying to tell us about the products they were showing.

I heard back too, saying they hope I will tune in to see some of their
other guest hosts. At least that says to me that Liz does not have the job...yet.

FYI, I emailed Cityline and got a response today saying comments are definitely appreciated...

Isn't that the truth. Between CSI and ???? (gee I can't remember the name of it...the detective or coroner or something who used to be an assistant DA on Law & Order) ...you just know you are watching fiction. Like women in those professions walking around crime scenes would always be in low cut, tight fitting v-necks, tight pants and stiletto heels happens other than on TV. More likely it would be boots and overalls.

Hahaha! I wish we women would get a peep show for a change.....hahaha!

Yes, bravo Janet for teaching your daughters well. That whale tail, boob showing fashion hopefully is on it's way out. I remember years ago just having your bra straps show was out of the question let alone letting your underwear show. It would have been a huge embarrassment. Things sure have changed.
I haven't caught Cityline yet this week....I guess it's not a priority anymore. May watch or record Thurs show to see who's on. I have always loved their Tues and Thurs shows. Hopefully when I do tune in I won't get an eyefull of breasts.

I so agree with the boobs showing look - it just isn't professional. Good for you Janet trying to give your daughters some common sense. I don't think I'm a prude. There's a time and place. It would be no more acceptable if a man wore a pair of pants that were too tight.

oh my gosh, like you DBD, i decided to give her another try.........holy sh&t she drove me nuts :hairpull: i think she was even getting on Ramsens nerves.....she wasnt listening!!! yap yap

Arizona, i agree i also dont appreciate the boob show either....gosh im trying to teach my teens that this is not appropriate, even though every other teen girl walks around like that and there she is on daytime tv showing herself.

Thanks for the address. I just emailed in. Liz W nearly drove me nuts today with her DIY fumbling around. I turned her off last time but I figured, give it a chance and could barely sit thought it.

I want to see how things are supposed to be done, not how some clutz does it (I already know how do it that way).... What's worse is twice Ramsin told her what to do and twice she wasn't listening and then had to question what he had just said and twice she went ahead and did what he told her not to do...thwack! It's like the lights are on and no one is home with that woman. Perhaps a guest shot on the next Canada's Worst Handyman would be a better slot for her?

What was really telling (to me) was when Ramsin and Frank started goofing off on the side. She completely lost control of the show and obviously they weren't really up to listening to her so did their own thing. That's bad.

I don't know how they can keep her on because it won't be long before we see very few of the guests being able to respect her and I would bet they start dropping off vs not being able to do their pieces like they are used to.

I didn't even notice what Liz West was wearing.

Jody Vance was on the other day. I hadn't heard of her before, but she seemed ok.

I think Dina Pugliese will be on later this week. I watch Breakfast Television during breakfast before I leave for work, but she's my least favourite part of the show. If she was host of Cityline, I'd definitely stop watching it.

I wonder who else they'll try out.

I just checked out the Cityline web page and they specifically say that they want our input...so ladies drop them a line and let them know what you think.

Rest assured I have already given them a piece of my mind. :-)

OMG!!!!! Could someone please put a muzzle on Liz West!!!! :hairpull:
I want to hear what the guest are saying and she does not shutup!!!!!! :hairpull: :hairpull:
I will NOT be watching Cityline if she is the host!!!
I hate to be a b$tch but she should keep doing her old job..what ever that is.
Last week it was the same thing, I really wanted to hear the guest and she cuts them off, adds stupid remarks etc.

I remember when Marilyn took over for Dini......HUGE improvement.
I always thought Marilyn had an equivelent effect as her guests. I think it is going to take a great deal of time to find a 'likeable host for the audience at home and in studio. These are hard stilettos to fill!

I agree that 'Liz' type of dressing was inappropriate for the show. It was just another distraction to an ongoing struggle to fill the hour.

I will have to check this week and try to watch who else is auditioning. I couldn't bring myself to watch last week. Only caught the one show which I found annoying.

I think Liz would be best suited for a 'pop' entertainment show. She would have a flare for that.

dustbunnydiva's picture

I'm pretty sure Marilyn's ship has sailed and we won't see her again until CTV or whoever it is starts her new show.

There are more guest hosts this week. I just hope they can find someone who can handle the show at least half as nicely as Marilyn did.

janetc's picture

yes, that was her name "Liz West" and the show was horrible, i couldnt handle watching it. I agree, the audience did not look impressed at all.

:) Maybe we could start a "Bring Back Marilyn" petition!!! I will not be watching anymore!!! This week was sooooooo painful!!!

What? You are doubting Saint Marilyns fabulousness on her first day? :D

I was watching the audience and it pained me to see the looks on their faces. It was bad enough that they had waited weeks and weeks to get tickets and then excpecting to see Marilyn but no, she's gone and replaced with some person they clearly didn't like either. At least I could switch the sound down but those poor people had to sit through it like a root canal. Well maybe not like a root canal but I wouldn't have wanted to be in their shoes. I suppose if this were an audition there would be no point in helping the new host by telling them their outfit was inappropriate.
We all knew this was going to be a tough act to follow. Maybe they should go with a guy as a host instead.

Arizona, that was funny but very true.

I just hope that the people in charge were watching and could see and hear what her audience did.

The dress WAS too much. I wonder that no one in charge would have commented on it before the show began.

You ladies were too kind towards Liz West. She's giving me a headache.
She seems compelled to articulate everything that pops into her head whether it's appropriate or not. She must have been very nervous. I loved Mary Dobsons face when Liz said she didn't know what liquid starch was or what it was used for :D But going on and on about her new baby was too much personal information for me too soon. And I didn't think wearing such a low cut top was appropriate given the demographics of the audience. We have our own Liz, we don't need to see yours.

This I have to see, it's being re-run at 1pm today.

I am watching this weeks rerun right now, and couldn't agree with you more. Interrupt, interrupt, interrupt......and what a ditz!!! Her guest just told her that they had to go to commercial!!

I think she (Liz West I think ) would be better suited to an Entertainment Tonight type show....with a script to follow. She is not good at ad libbing.

OMG she is interrupting Brian now....forcing him to speak so quickly in order to get his segment over before the break....which, incidentally, he had to introduce again!!!

Oh, please...no more Liz West!!!

You'd think those dolts in their ivory towers would have figured all this out ahead of time. It's almost as if they want the show to fail now.

I agree that the hosts they are trying out to replace Marilyn are not great. Most of them are trying too hard. The gal they had on this morning (Friday) I thought was the best one. Fortuneatley I still get marilyn's reruns at nine a.m.on channel twelve and the regular show with the new gals startes at ten a.m. on channel thirteen.
I hope they soon get this mess cleaned up so at least we can watch a decent show, but it will never be as great as when Marilyn was there.

Inglewood's picture

Yes, I watched Thurs show. She was better then the first time she was on but still trying too hard. It seemed to me that the guests on the show were getting a bit frustrated with her as she spoke over them many times. They had a hard time getting their points across.
I miss Marilyn  She's the best!
