Cityline...Tracey

Has anyone continued to watch Cityline since Marilynn sp? left? I did continue to watch because I do like the guest that they have on for homeday. I really liked Marilynn and still do and in the beginning I was out of sorts with Tracey, i had a hard time with her as the new host. However, I am not sure if its just me, but I feel Tracey has come a long way, she has taken a total turn around and seems much more relaxed in her new job. In the beginning she was constantly interupting the guest but I find now she listens and lets them speak first. Perhaps she just needed time to adjust. Just my thoughts.....

My wife stopped watching shortly after Tracey started. If you say she's improved though, I'll convince her to start watching again.

I agree. Tracey doesn't have any spunk for the show. She seems like a nice person but really lacks personality for TV.

Her jokes aren't funny ...i find her dull. Marilyn got me laughing and i loved her quirkiness (sp?) and wit!

I'm also really sick of watcing the 3 chefs...the programming is terrible!

I totally agree with these posters.  I think the demographic of women who enjoy CityLine are professional, well educated boomers - especially for the home day (my favourite) & chefs (I love Michael B).

I tried to give Tracey the benefit of being a novice at interviewing.  But after months of loud giggling, constantly interrupting her guests and asking dumb questions - I sent an email to the producers of the show.  I got a very rude reply - saying that all the feedback they have had about Tracey has been positive and the guests LOVE her!

Now, I just PVR the shows - and fast forward through most of it to hear the guests that interest me.

I like Tracey as well but like a lot of people, I found her style to be something to adjust to at first. I actually went to 2 of the shows in person and I do have to say that she is the most friendly person I have ever met. She isn't fake at all. During the commercial breaks she was chatting with guests one on one and seemed totally authentic. I just love her!

I can't stand this wannabe host.  She's irritating, completely stupid, and treats her guests and audience as though they are as dumb as she is.  I can't understand why a host would want to talk over her experts, and would want to insult her audience by making comments such as "how many people didn't know what this was for"?  Please take off her off of the show so that I can start watching it again.

This summer was bliss when the current host was off giving birth, I was able to watch it again for a few months.

I cannot stand Tracey Moore. I used to to be a devout Cityline viewer and now no longer watch it. Have started watching recently because Tracey is on maternity leave and am really hoping that she doesn't return.

I would like to say that I agree with you, Tracey does constantly interupt the guest.  I find that I am not that interesed in cityline anymore. They are losing my voite for best daytime show.  I gave Tracey lots of time to adjust, but no go. I think she should go back to her regurlar morning show after her maternity leave.  This was not her best career decision.  The crew of cityline needs to review their decision on who would be the best Cityline host.

I am so happy to hear Marilyn Denis is getting her own show this fall.......can hardly wait. As far as CityLine....Tracey does ruin the show. I still watch on Home Day and some Fashion Fridays but can't stand when she monopolizes the time. We are trying to see /hear the guests. I find each segment is short as it is but with Tracey butting in, and talking off topic limits important information we as the viewers are trying to hear.  At least we will have a break soon and she will be on maternity leave. Also since she became pregnant.......the amount of baby related shows have definitely increased. I am a mother so don't get me wrong. I just find they are not hitting there viewers age group very well.

So EXCITED with the NEW news of Marilyn Denis returning back to TV talkshow this fall.

CTV announced the great news.

Was a long and patient wait !

Not that I am ready for summer to pass too quickly

I cannot stand watching Tracy Moore. She constantly interrupts, she acts like she knows more than the guests, you can tell she knows in advance what is going to be discussed because she jumps in before the guests have a chance to talk, she asks stupid, out of context questions, she invites guests on stage that have no business being there, throwing the guest's off. I can't stand her laugh, like everything is a private joke but it's not. I can tell the guests don't like her at all and she keeps comparing what they say to what another guest has said in the past. She wants to help with cooking, crafts etc. but is not good and should just shut up and let us all listen becasue we watch the show to learn. It's frantic, I don't understand why she is allowed to do this. What a mess. I rarely watch Cityline anymore and I don't think I'll watch again, at least until she is on maternity leave. She has such an ego that I don't think she can be reined in. I felt sorry for the chefs today, just crazy she ruined the whole segment..................I think a new host should be found for Cityline and then Tracy should host her own "Tracy Moore Show", at 2:00 a.m.  on some obscure network. That's where she belongs. She certainly has ruined Cityline.

I really tried to keep an open mind with Marilyn gone -- and Tracey in place. I think that in order for the show to keep on working, the viewers really had to be flexible since the change in host was dramatic.

But I have to admit that the show just doesn't have the same charisma as it once had...And if the producers are trying to pinpoint a younger audience, they missed the mark. It's almost as if no one (show producers) researched the show's target audience when Tracey was put in place. She is great for the fashion stuff but everything else seems to make her fall flat. JMHO...

I used to be a daily Cityline viewer. Now I pick which days to watch according to the guests. Tracey has improved somewhat but she is no Marilyn. I did see the segment with Lynn Spence. There was definite tension in the air! Tracey still has a lonnnnggggg way to go!

Glad I didn't see it as apparently it drove Lynn Spence into complete silence for the rest of the show or something..

HOLY SMOKES!!! i dont watch Cityline everyday but as i said i try to catch Home Day, and even though she is NO Marylnn I thought she had improved but judging by this, I would say she is still the same ole Tracey.

Which episode was it? I just went to the CityTV website but I couldn't find the one you're referring to. Last Thursday was Brian Gluckstein and Colin & Justin. Lynn Spence was on a Thanksgiving special, but they seem to be getting along just fine on that one...

I went to the cityline website and watched the episode DBD is referencing above and agree that she crossed the line with Lynn Spence. It seemed like something had been said to her behind the scenes about interrupting Lynn Spence during her segment so a few minutes into Lynn's last segment on the show she said "Am I allowed to say anything? "Oh I thought I wasn't going to be allowed to even say one word" or something to that effect - basically embarrasing Lynn. Lynn hardly said anything for the rest of the show although she was a pro and did her part. Pretty tacky.

My take on it is that Tracy wants Lynn not to be on the show anymore so she is trying to get her to quit.

I'd rather have Lynn. I used to love that show and I hardly watch it anymore because she just makes me cringe. I hate it when she takes up so much time during the guests segments and then cuts them off and doesn't let them finish because they are out of time.

I would have thought she would have had enough of an interest in doing a good job to watch some previous seasons of shows and get an idea of how it's done. It's obvious she didn't or she wouldn't ask some of the basic questions any Cityline viewer knows the answer to.

Yeah, I have to agree. I think I watch about one out of every ten Home Day episodes now whereas when Marilyn was on I never missed one. I find the new host a little awkward, not very knowledgeable, and lacking in personality and a sense of humour.

Not a faithful watcher anymore. Will catch a Thurs show here and there. Still can't handle Tracey even though she has improved. She can't hold a candle to Marilyn or even the original host DIni ....and that says alot.....as Dini was just okay.

I must say that I like her new hair extensions or weave.

Much improved this new season in comparison to her old hairstyle.
