Here's a fun idea! My friends and I recently formed a Cocktail Club where we try new drink recipes each month. We got the idea from Plymouth Gin, their website has so many great drink recipes. At the moment, Raspberry Collins are my absolute favourite. I like to document some of my cocktail clubs in my blog, not to mention some weekly happenings in my life http://www.cocktailgirl.modblog.com.

Well, the last couple of years I haven't really participated in too many cocktail parties - can't handle the morning after with young kids, but here's a couple of our favorites. Beware, they are a little wacky.
Sandhill Hooker
In a shot glass fill it 2/3 with Crown Royal and the other 1/3 with dill pickle juice. Do your best to find pickles that were made by a Grandma - homemade with lots of garlic - try not to use the storebought stuff. Doesn't work as well. Sounds bad but the salt counters the sweet in the rye.
Skip and Go Naked
26 oz gin
6 pack beer
1 can of frozen pink lemonade concentrate.
ice.
Lives up to it's name.
These days I also prefer the gin and tonic route. Actually really like even the tonic just by itself.
nothing beats my Bacardi...the only kind i like..Cocktail girl...got any special Long Island Ice Tea recipes...i have a really really good one...just wondering if there are any other ones out there
Happy National Rum Day. Wouldn't a Pina Colada be a nice way to celebrate. I've just tried Cruzan Coconut Rum and just let me say...YMMMMMM
Try Gin and Tonics with Plymouth Gin. When I tried it I was amazed. It's taste is not overpowering, but you can taste a bit of lemon and juniper. It's soooo refreshing, especially on these hot, steamy and sticky nights!
is a gin and tonic, right now. Clean, simple, refreshing on a hot day - great on the deck!! I adore it with Hendrick Gin (tastes like cucumbers!) and a slice of cucumber for garnish!!
Yum!! perhaps dh should pick up more tonic on the way home from work!!

Thanks for checking out my blog. I think we girls need time to relax and appreciate our friends. My Cocktail Club helps me with that. I'm working on finding a recipe for Spiked Caps. But you may want to checkout www.plymouthgin.com. That's where I get all of my recipes. Oh....and I did stock up last Tuesday with the threat of a LCBO strike and the long weekend looming. My friends and I tend to get together the first weekend of each month for our club "meeting".
This is the drink we tested this past weekend!
Man Killer
30ml Plymouth Gin
10ml Apricot Brandy
10ml Galliano
10ml Strawberry syrup
Orange & Passion fruit Nectar
Shake ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass.
Garnish: cherry
cheers!
jem...don't worry...i'm not a wine drinker either...to fancy shamcy for me....i prefer the hard stuff.....YEEEEHHHHAAAWWWW!!!!!!!.... :D ...there isn't much that a lil tequila can't fix......lol
to stay out of this conversation, but now that you have mentioned iced tea and chocolate, I am in!
I wonder if there is an antidote to wine allergies.....sadly, I have to stick to the hard stuff or beer or water!
now you ladies know that no party is complete without a few Long Island Ice Teas.....ummmm my favorite.... :D
include recommended Flights of Wine... I happen to have it on excellent Authority that Newbs is a convert to Flights!!!
RWD might even make a return to posting should Wine Spectating become part of the Cocktail Club!
I have a great Chocolate Martini recipe - but hangovers are GUARANTEED!
Start a thread about a wonderful cocktail club and stifle it with a gag order. Poot! How are we supposed to enjoy the libations?
My AA group would not allow me to do that.... :)
Well, if drinks and good cheer are in your near future better stock up, rumor has it that at midnight on Wednesday the LCBO is going on strike. That does not include the privately operated venues which are more prominently placed in cottage country. Cheers anyways!
The cocktail club sounds like a great idea. I was expecting to see some of your recipes on your blog though! Come on share! I know a member here who LOVES spiked ice caps. Do you have a recipe for those? I liked reading your blog.
