a color question

Hi everybody
I have another color question for anyone with a fan deck who could help me out.
My livingroom will be Vellum(CC-200) and hallway will be summer harvest (CC-190).
My stairway leading downstairs (which is off the hallway right near the living room) also needs to be painted and I already bought HC-99. Now I'm thinking that maybe it is a tad too dark against the summer harvest and that I should have bought CC-250. What do you think?
Could I lighten it by mixing it with Cloud White? I have extra Cloud White paint.

Your right, green and yellow do compliment each other but in this case the HC-99 Abingdon Putty is too weak for the great Vellum. I have specified HC-99 and did not like it, so I had the painter change it. I found it takes on an institutional shade, you know, like the green we went to school with in our youth. So, I can say that HC-99 is not a versatile colour, it causes more conflicts than other greens in the deck.
Good luck

Thanks for your input, I'll have a look at your suggestion.
Maybe I can use the greenish color for another room.
I always thought that green and yellow would go well together.

Hi Frenchie, as mentioned before, HC-99 and CC-250 are both green undertones which will conflict with the Summer Harvest and Vellum. You cannot change the undertone of a colour by re-mixing it. So I think you will have to pitch the HC-99. Otherwise I think you will be really disappointed. Look at HC-36 Hepplewhite Ivory. It is a very soft yellow neutral that will compliment the other colours you have.
Good luck

Thanks for letting me know about the colors. I am anxious to get the painting done. I'm tired of living with a mess. Walls are being patched etc at the moment.

I haven't yet heard from anyone who has mixed paint. Any suggestions?

Hi Frenchie,

I don't know about the colour that you are questioning but I have vellum in my family room and summer harvest in my hallways and I love the combo. It turned out very warm, inviting yet still neutral. Hope you like it too.

I see between the two colours is not one is lighter than the other but that HC99 has a much greener undertone. I don't think adding white will change the undertone - I actually prefer CC250 with your selections as it has less green. Never added colour so I'm no help there. If you want to see what velum looks like designer guy has posted pics but beware - he doesn't like it with his furnishings.

Good luck!
