What colour of cushions would you put on a very light beige leather sofa? It is white beige.
Everything is neutral in my living room, I can put every colour I want, because I would change my pictures on the wall.
The curtains are in linen a soft beige, the walls are green with a tint of grey, sometime its look beige so it is neutral.
Red is going very well, I put some red cushions during Christmas Time, but now I dont know what colour to put.
Green doesn't go, black is ok, I would like others suggestions please.
Thank you.

Dustbunnydiva, I am very happy to see you!
What do you think about Chris and Steven, they say that we shoud put the curtains the same colour then the wooden floor and the pillows to?
Or put the curtains the colour of the trim of the window.
I know that they are not doing that all the time, but they say that at their show.
I have an old brown fur coat in borg, and a nice other coat in black fur, do you think that I should make pillows whit that fourrure coats and a throw?
I am so afraid to put to much colours because it is an open space.
And if I put for exemple red pillow, I will have to put something red in my dining room may be.
I hope that you are doing well.
Excuse my english, to bad that I cant translate that in a good english.
Thank you
If you liked the red, how about trying an orange or rust for a change? It would still fit with the green and blue you have and depending on the fabric you find could be very bright and solid or mixed in a stripe or print so it wouldn't be too much but still give colour. I was thinking an orange tone since the cream, brown (floor), green, blue are all kind of colours of nature and orange would fit in without clashing to make you change pictures etc.
You could also check out fabric stores because they often sell the insides of the pillows and all sorts of covers. That way you could change them any time you like as the mood or season strikes.
I am thinking like you: "Can't beat HomeSense. Great variety, good prices and a good return policy. "
You can be certain that I will go to Homesense and still will buy cushions as I always do it!
I love to go there!
Hi Lina. I'd head down to HomeSense and pick up a variety of cushions to try out and then take pictures for us. Personally I'd do for something with silver and some muted colours - blue, turquoise, green - that's if you can find it. Getting it home always makes a difference in how it looks. You can always return if they don't work out. Can't beat HomeSense. Great variety, good prices and a good return policy.
Thank you Smoodgie!
The turquoise is a kind of blue in my dining room, it isn't in the living room.
It is an open space, normally it is supposed to be all the same colour, but I was not ready for that since two years, because my furniture is not a "kit" so I tried to have a colour that everything goes together in the dining room. The colour in my living room was not good for my dining room, because I dont like green near my kitchet to.
I know that I can put a colour in my dining room and repeat it as an accent in the living room, that's why I put a kind of blue, I try turquoise, I have a turquoise pillow, but it wasn't enough flashy, it was to neutral.
It is hard to give a punch but I will tryed your idea.
I hope that you will understand me.
Now I will be ready to have a grey or another colour to match with my living room. The entry and other open spaces is the same colour, the colour of my living room. I will have difficulties to put red and turquoise together in my living room, I like more neutral, but I know that these colours matched together.
This forum is very slow, it doens't work like before with many people, "dommage".
How about turquoise?? I see some turquoise in the pictures on your wall. Red & turquoise is a nice combination, so you could always add the red pillows you have to turquoise ones when you feel like making a change.
Tangory, yesterday I was in the store Mobilia where I buy my sofa, and I put some black and cream pillows on my sofa, the same as mine, and it was very nice.
I dont buyed them because they where to expansive.
I will wait to find them at Homesense.
After you see my pictures that I dowlonded on Casimages tell me what you think about my black and grey throw and with my black white cushinons.
I buy my cushions before I received my sofa, that the reason why they doesn't fit to well.
Thank you.
With the carpet, when I received my sofa.
Just with black and white pillow, I dont like it, because I should find pillow black and beige and not black and white.
This is what I have now, I put blue pillows that I have to match with the blue on the pictures.
I have so much pillows in the basement, but not a nice black and beige one.
I buy a white one to but it isn't nice with the beige of the sofa.
When I put this white pillow on the "jeté" the blanket in fourrure, its look not to bad.
We will put the carpet during the week end, I take it out for cleaning and because one of my cat is sick.
Lina
I dont know woo to put a picture here, can you explain me???
I am happy that you answer me.
Nice to see you again Janet!
I just take pictures, I am coming back!
Red was for Christmas, they are in the basement now...
Lina,
Do you have any accessories in the room, and if so, what colour are they? What kinds of colours are in your art (pictures, prints, paintings)? You mentioned red, but personally I feel that too strong a colour UNLESS you have other red accents in the room to support the colour.
If it were me, I wouldn't put a solid colour pillow on your sofa... I'd want something with a pattern. One of the colours in the pattern would be a neutral similar to that of your sofa and drapes. In fact, a couple of patterns would be fantastic! Why not consider a black and cream print for at least one (or two) pillow(s)... then mate it with two pillows in another print that has the colour that you want... then you can toss in one solid pillow in your colour OR a soft throw. Overall, I'm talking a minimum of 3 pillows... but 4 would be better. And a throw
The reason I'm suggesting a black & cream print = it acts as a neutral BUT adds interest and texture to the space.
Here's an example of a cream sofa with black and green pillows
It can be a great affect!
Hope this helps a little... Victoria
Hi Lina, how are you? nice to see you, i haven't been around much but spring is coming and im getting in the mood to do some freshening up.
Do you have a picture of your living room, its been a while since i have seen it. You shouldn't have to change your pictures, unless of course you are wanting a change. Your room sounds very neutral, so the sky should be the limit for some punches of color. If you liked the red at christmas, why not keep that as an accent color. See if you can post some pictures and we can play around with some colors, and what is your favorite color?
