We've just bought a house with a complete concrete jungle for a backyard. (see a picture here: http://members.rogers.com/samandsteph/house/websites/houseandhome.com/fi...)
We don't have time this summer since we're getting married, but next summer I'd really like to get rid of that concrete! My dad said I could use a jackhammer, but surely there must be another way?
We'd like to plant a tree or two, and then have some raised beds, gravel, some flag stones. Some soil areas for veggies and flowers, but no grass.
Our question may be silly, but can we just pour dirt on top of the concrete, raise it up, and start from there? Or do we have to take all the concrete out? Can we take some of the concrete out for trees and soil, etc. but leave the rest underneath the gravel or flagstone??
Also, how can we remove the concrete, is a jackhammer the only way?
Thanks for your help! We have no clue!
