I picked up a couple of Coppertina shrubs at Loblaws last week -- the leaves are actually copper coloured. So now I'm on the hunt for some more copper coloured plants and flowers. I found some flowers -- can't remember the name, other than it starts with an O :o They look like daisies. Also, any suggestions for really dark purple flowers??
Here are the Coppertina shrub and the "daisies". The daisies look pink in the picture, but they're almost iridescent-looking -- the colours change from copper to pink to purple.

Hi Smoodgie; Here is a picture of potato vines and blue lobelia. I use them for fillers in the flower pots and hanging baskets. :)
Here is a closer view of both colours. Actually after reviewing it is not that much closer. I am in Zone 5.
It is the ivy like plant in the centre. It comes in the dark, almost a copper shade here and in various greens. Great in the sun. This is a picture taken in the early summer last year and I will not be planting my pots until after next weekend. We had hail yesterday. UGH!!
Here are some grampa ott's morning glories

Hi Seetpea, I am so afraid of planting yet, but you are right everything good goes pretty quick. Since I am north of the GTA I normally don't plant until the 1st week o f June, my friend planted last year on the May 24 weekend and we had frost the next week and lost everything.
What is a Potato Vine and Lobelia.?
Pictures of liatris & clematis :) the clematis comes in several shades of purple from mauve to very deep purple :)
Hi Smoodgie; Very pretty colour combo.....I am so anxious to purchase ....I should get out there to get the potato vines & lobelia as they sell fast...Petunias come in a very dark purple shade or liatris spicata is a nice looking perennial that comes in white or purple.or a jackmani clematis climbing behind the flower bed would make a nice backdrop. :)
Very pretty Smoodgie!! I am so slow going this spring I have not touched anything outside other then raked and cut the grass :o
