A corner of my garden

I forget the name of the silver foliage one with the flowers that look like carnations, but I really love that plant. It took a couple of years to take off, and now I think I'll be able to divide it. The clematis is jackmanii superba, I think, and the big california lilac is the one that got winter damaga, so it's all bare on the inside. It used to be a nice mound but I'm not sure what shape it will be once I prune it! I think it's outgrown the spot anyhow, so I will probably move it.

I'm currently working on extending this corner garden along the fence. I just have a bit more turf to go!

Dawn, your corner garden looks so gorgeous. Your clematis is so pretty over the fence....beautiful backdrop for your other flowering plants.

Oh-found the name: it's Rose Campion, or Lychnis coronaria. It seems to be hardy to zone 3. Here's a page where a few people have shared their thoughts on it:

When it first had flowers, I remember drying some and putting more seeds over the original clump. Division next time!

It's the most colourful spot in all of my gardens. At one point I wanted to do something like all white flowers throughout the beds and borders in the back, but I can't find the discipline to do so.

Next for this area where I'm extending the border I will be planting some dinnerplate dahlias that are orange and white. That's a bold move for me, as I don't usually go for orange flowers. The packages were on clearance at the garden center and I couldn't resist!

Wow now we are talking huge and loaded with flowers. I'm so jealous.
