What's your favourite Cottage Recipe?
Mine is a dessert that is dead easy to prepare....
While you are preparing the rest of your cottage dinner, cut up some banana's lenghwise like you would for a banana split and lay them in a foil pan. Top with caramel sauce and chocolate chips.
After you have BBQ'd your dinner, turn off the BBQ and put the pan in the BBQ. Close the lid.
When you are finished dinner, take the pan out of the BBQ and serve this ooey-gooey warm topping on vanilla ice-cream!
The kids can even assemble the ingredients in the pan while you prepare dinner.
Enjoy!

I layer ( into a wine glass) (1/2 of a small container) 0% fat vanilla yogurt, fresh blueberries or strawberries and then 1/2 of an oatmeal raisin cookie. Tastes and looks delicious....... also relatively low calorie!!
Our cottage meals are usually very rustic. One of our most popular ones is cutting up a bunch of veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, leeks, zucchinis, potatoes and onions, slapping them in an aluminum pan, mixing them around with some oil and seasoning salt and putting them on the bbq....easy and delicious by itself, as a bread topping, or as a side dish with any type of meat, poultry or fish.
That is my kind of baking. Sounds so yummy next time we get hot dry weather here I will put the barbie on and give it a try.
that sounds so good...lol
