I am still struggling with my small powder room! What do you think of a Stainless Steel counter top? It is pretty affordable to buy a brushed finish stainless countertop as long as you don't want the sink as an integral part.
Could I do a stainless countertop with a glass vessel sink or perhaps a stainless one? Would this look ok in the bathroom? Here is my wall paper (in another houses bathroom) and current bathroom again. I would stain the cabinets dark.
Thanks in advance for your input!

So back to the drawing board. The problem that I am having with granite is that most of them seems far too busy with the wall paper when I put them together.
Here is my next question........What about if I found a solid black granite.....would you then paint the cabinet black instead of staining it? Would it be too dark?
I will include a picture of the staining that I practiced on some other cabinet doors, although I like the look of staining I think there will be too many colours with the floor and the cabinet and the dark top. What do you think?

I like this combo as for the countertop i'd go with the lighter colours off of the tile
Lina, I think that more people than you realize understand French. With the release of the french version of the H&H magazine it only makes sense that there are more and more of us from Quebec coming to this site.
Phew, thank you - I thought I was going crazy seeing a well in there! My French is from France, and I had thought that maybe you Quebecers had a different meaning - I know it happens with some words, maybe less and less these days, as cultures are more and more mingled, first with TV programs and even more so now with the internet ..
Sorry Lina for taking liberties!
That is cute reno-vator. Yes, you are right it is a "well" but I am not sure what the translator, perhaps a program, was thinking because it probably got confused with the word "puis" which is very commonly used, as, et puis .... roughly translated as, and then.....

Isey...Black granite (even with a silver fleck/vein) & a glass vessel sink (an aqua shade) would look awesome with the dark cabinets....Accessories
in light colours will accent the room nicely.
I am writing in english and my reply are translate in french I dont know why.
I am french so I do the best that I cant to write in english.
Excuse me I dont understand.
Lina, il n'y a pas de probleme, le plupart des temps nous vous comprendrons tres bien. Il ya longtemps que je ne parle (ou ecris) en francais.
I dont know what's happened, I write in english the best as I can and my reply are translate in french.

I think that you are all right. It is our main bathroom on the main floor and I have 2 little ones. I never thought about the cleaning nightmare, just how great it would look with the silver in the wallpaper. I would be cursing my decision in the first week of cleaning up prints and water drops I am sure.

Quick translation :
I think stainless steel belongs in the kitchen.
Paint your countertop if you can't change it, or pick one that matches the other things that you already have.
I prefer a glass basin. But with your paper, it needs to match . . . (I lose it here, that word "puits" means a well, as in water well, to me).
Sorry Lina for taking liberties!
I don't think the brushed stainless steel would be as hard to keep clean as the shiny stuff, and I think glass would be just as hard. Who will be using this powder room? kids, or just adults/guests? That would be part of my decisioin-making process!
Hi Isey,
Sounds like a cool idea, but I have to agree with Arizona. Might not be ideal as I think it would require a lot of work to keep clean...
Love the look of vessel sinks though! Maybe check out the glass counter as Arizona suggested. As counter is not large, you may be able to get a great deal on a piece of leftover granite or marble somewhere. (mmmm...maybe I should check that out too:))
I hesitate to suggest going with stainless steel, it will be a cleaning nightmare.
What about a glass countertop instead? I saw one at HD and it looked pretty cool.
Je pense que comptoir inox est préférable pour une cuisine.
