My favourite flowers finally starting to bloom. The waiting is all worthwhile, love the orange colour and elegant shape. They look also very nice in cut arrangements and last year I dried some. Here in BC we can leave them in the ground during the winter, we just cut them back and they happily produce new flowers around this time.

well, my garden is in full bloom regardless of the fact the rain this year has eluded us......I have had to water and I hate that. Watering never does the nice job that a good rain does...I do have pics on the digicam but my puter isnt working well enuff to send it...will see if DH can send it from his...most of our container plants are mauves/purples and shades of pink, while the gardens are blues and yellows and oranges.......its quite a mixture...we put up a shed this year too and because we didnt want to have to dig a concrete pad, we cheated and got a "resin" one with a floor and we hate it :(
Thanks. How is your garden? Any pics for us?

GORGEOUS as usual, another one I had never seen before :)
Yes, I had bamboo at our other place, It grew very fast and was spreading towards the neighbours place (a bit of a problem) but fun plant. Foxxy, do you know, why Maple-leaf's garden album is gone?

as usual that plant is beautiful. Nice to live in a warmer zone so you can have unusual plants. Here in zone 5a/b we do not have near the selection that would withstand the winters.
Have you ever grown bamboo outside? I bought 2 plants from Delta BC for the house and they have grown well so far. It will be awhile before they are 3-4' high but a fun plant to try.
The plant originated in South Africa and comes from the iris & crocus family, we only had it for about 3 years. Yes, in the back we have a little greenhouse, my husband is pretty good at taking clippings in the fall and starting new plants off for the next year.

Lisi, I agree with you. THe colour really 'pops". It looks like an Asian lily, is it in the same family? Lucky you, I think I spot a greenhouse in the second picture?
here is a close up.
