i am just wondering - at the moment, we have crown moulding in our living room that is stained and i would like to paint it.  I am wondering if i paint that the ceiling colour (white) or if i paint it the colour of our trim (cream)?

Hello heidi rose,

It's a personal preference, but I like the look of crisp white trim. Read this article for our favourite white paints. I love Benjamin Moore's Cloud White.

Good luck!

You did not say what colour the walls are.(or are going to be) You could have the ceiling paint tinted to match the wall colour, maybe 1/4 of the formula of the wall colour to take the stark white ceiling away and feature the crown in the gentle cream the same as the rest of your trim but I would not recommend without seeing the room. Another idea would be to paint the ceiling a different .(co-ordinating with the wall colour or someting completely different from the wall colour)ImageImageImageImage  Do you have a pic?

the colour of our trim is called gentle cream from benjamin moore and our ceilings are white (whatever white comes when you buy ceiling paint).  i would think to paint the crown moulding white to match the ceiling, but i am just wondering as then it would make the trim look a little yellowish... so just wondering

What colour are the walls and ceiling now? Are your baseboards white now or would you be painting them too? Depending on your wall colour, you might want to leave the ceiling white and paint all of you trims(crown) white. You could paint the crown the same colour as the walls so that it doesn't stand out. You could paint the crown white(to feature it and set it off with a coloured ceiling. You could add another piece of trim below the crown and paint it white(see pic)ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
