Crumb Catching Table--Help!

Hey All! I have a table that I really like--simple and rustic. Unfortunately it hase these routed out lines as a border that do nothing but catch crumbs--yuk! An old toothbrush and vacuum hose are not my idea of after dinner clean-up. Does anyone have any ideas on what product I can use to fill these nasty crevices? I don't really want to shellac (sp?) the whole top as I like the rustic patina it's getting, and I'm wary about wood filler as it may crack and come out over time. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'll post a picture as soon as I can get one to work within the guidelines

How about clear silicone to fill the cracks? At least if it's clear you'll still see the cracks.

How about one of these battery-operated gadgets: a table top crumb vacuum. See http://www.kitchenniche.ca/crumb-sweeper-p-1163.html

I have the same problem...I just vacuum it up......I had glass on a table before...and the finger prints drove me nuts..( 3 kids)......I'd rather vacuum...the alternative is using tablecloth when you eat.........I wouldn't fill the grooves...that gives the table the rustic charm........ :D

I wouldn't try to fill those as it would stick out badly I still think a glass cover is your best bet.

I found a way to shrink the file size--here goes...

What about getting a piece of glass cut to fit over the top and then you would only have to wipe it.
