Cumaru hardwood flooring

We are doing a complete renovation on our home, and are having second thoughts about our choice of hardwood flooring.  We are putting the hardwood throughout our large open concept living/dining/kitchen open area on the main floor as well as the stairs and hallway and bedrooms on the second floor.  We fell in love with Cumaru, or Brazilian Teak (beautiful cinnamon/nutmeg color but lots of variation in color, so can look patchy), but are wondering if this will be a difficult choice around which to decorate.  We love the warmth of this wood, but we are concerned this floor might draw too much attention to itself, as opposed to being just be a background to our furnishings.  Should we just go for it and then what kind of kitchen cabinets and color palette would you suggest?  Or alternately, what would be a good choice in a more neutral, warm, midtone color hardwood?

The Brazilian teak sounds gorgeous. Despite the colour variations, I think the floor will still read as neutral, so you still have lots of colour options. As for cabinets and palette, Suzanne Dimma is very fond of a pretty light grey/white combo.
