Just dead head and leave the rest.

My neighbour just cuts off the dead flowers and that is it. I doubt she fertilizes and she has 3 large bushes which are spectacular every year. Norm

I just cut the spent flowers off and leave the rest.I have 2 peonies that are 14years old and that is all I have ever done to them and they come back beautifully every year.

but maybe not right thing to do. I also feed them well with bonemeal in the fall for next years growth.
