Most greens look great with wood trim. They just naturally go together.
Meanwhile I've had three houses with wood trim (70 yr old red/orange and 50 yr old oak) and I think the only paint I really thought looked awful were whites and beiges (mind you I hate those colours anyway but they really just don't do it with the wood like some colour does).
I am having the exact same problem! My girls' rooms (who are now grown and out of the house) have an orange-y color to the trim (one room more so than the other) I have tried so many things over the years, no wonder I was having such trouble! Now that they are no longer living here, I was looking to paint the rooms something more neutral, maybe a green? Any suggestions? The closet doors, the window trim and the baseboards are all pretty much the same color wood.
Smilea,
Do you only have wood trims or do you also have wood panels? What color is the wood stained exactly? Does the stain have orange undertone, or red? This is very important in selecting you paint color. You want something that flows nicely with the wood and won't clash.
