I have always loved houses with big old fashion veranda's....Our house is in need of some entrance work ,new railings ,entrance door,porch basically a fresh facelift.I would like some of your thoughts on how a veranda the length of the front of the house would look like .DBD,If you have the time could you please try to mock-up one for me .Thank-you.
Our house is the cedar with the canopy...the others are inspirational pics.

I just showed DH & he is not crazy how it changes the look of the house,so we will be doing a mini reno(less $$$$) so I guess that is good.Thanks again DBD I always wondered how a nice big veranda would look & now I know:)

I can tell you that my parents had a typical 60's bungalow and decided to add a veranda. i thought they were nuts but it looked great and like it had always been there once it was done. I truly believe the secret is making sure there is a roof over it and a solid looking foundation around it so it just isn't hanging out there. Otherwise it ends up looking like a balcony/deck.
