Totally OT, but does anyone else watch this show? The greed is incredible. One lady had an offer of $198,000 and kept on going. She ended up with $5. And there was the single father who was offered big money. People were telling him to take it and he turned to the audience and asked his 12 year old daughter. She said no deal, so he kept on going. He won the next round and then quit but if he'd gone down that poor kid would've been living with guilt all her life. GREED. No skill is involved but all they can think about is how much money might get.
I really like Howie Mandel. It must be hard for him to do the show when he can't touch anyone. I'll bet the knuckle punching is even hard for him.

I'm going to think up a hook to get them intersted in me and my need for $1million. I know - I'll say I'm a crazy broad who paints everything, cleans constantly, drives a hot yellow car too fast, puts 200 posts daily on one forum. Wait, that's not me. Too bad, guess there's no one that can enter. Unless we could find some dippy broad that jumps up and down on beds. :D
oh and yes Smoo...it's ok to say you like the models...even tho you're a girl...lol...i think some of them are amazing looking and i love their outfits...so yes Smoo...it's ok..LOL
no prob Smoo...did you play it online yet?...kinda fun....lol...oh i love Howie too...with the exception of the Boston Pizza 'mercials...they started to get on my nerves...lol...and yes i would do the same thing...but you know what i think you think differently when you're actually there
I LOVE Deal or No Deal!! I like the music, I like Howie Mandel.... I even like the models. Is it OK to see that, being a girl and all?? :D
If I were on the show, I would keep going till it made no sense at all to continue -- who wants to be that NY Jets fan who had the million dollar briefcase but took the deal at $200,000ish?! It must be SO stressful to be on that show and turn down huge offers..... but must be SUCH a rush to open a low briefcase and be offered a load of money :)
jenjen, thanks for the heads-up about DOND coming to Canada -- it would be a BLAST to be on that show!!
hey jan....deal or no deal is gonna film 5 episodes in canada.....

He really was a hoot. A very adult show. All of a sudden he looked down and spotted a ten year old boy in the audience. He basically shut the show down right there. No way will he let his own kids hear what he does. He has really strict family values. He was really upset that tickets had been sold as acceptable for all ages. I think some ticket seller was going to be in big trouble. The show was a little less than an hour but a real scream.
Howie is such a hoot to watch....a real comedian...I saw him live one time in the States and we were in stitches from the beginning to the end of the show. Someone said that when he was in high school here he put an ad on the paper and tried to sell the school, crazy or what...that's something to expect from Howie :D
Howie Mandel is OCD about germs in general, not specifically touching people.

Howie: Don't Touch Me!
It's no accident that Canadian-born comedian Howie Mandel has a bevy of beautiful babes handling the briefcases on his surprise TV game show hit 'Deal or No Deal.' The Canadian-born comedian has a serious phobia of germs.
To Howie, the idea of touching a briefcase handle or shaking an NBC-TV executive's hand is as nerve-racking as the final stages of his audience participation guessing game. Then again, the occupation of game show host is just about the perfect one for a self-confessed germaphobe like Howie; he doesn't need to touch other people very often.
Even that famous routine that launched Mandel's stand-up career was probably inspired by a box full of OCD paraphernalia. You know, the one where he stretches a surgical glove to cover his head and then blows it up with his nose.[/I]
As for Deal or No Deal, it's sort of amusing to watch :)
DH and I love this show!! I wouldn't say that the contestants are driven by greed...they are just banking on the posiblity that the next offer will be even greater. One thing I have noticed is how CRAZY the contestants are!! I guess that's the whole point, to get people on that will get the audience going..I just find it annoying..but I have the option of turning the channel.
:D Mel
Does Howie have an actual phobia of touching people?? I think he is a fantastic host for this show..its a perfect match.
