Deck Stain Preserve Wash ?

A Deck Question: I will be moving in soon and want to know people's experience with how to care for a deck -that has to my knowledge never been stained or preserved. It is pressure treated lumber and maybe 5 years old. It is in great shape.

Please share. Everyone has got a different story it seems, right from leave it alone to a 10 step treatment that would take all summer to do.

decked out and ready to go,

L.

I don't think you have to do anything to pressure treated wood but you might want to ask someone at a lumber store (and make sure they actually know what they are talking about). No point in messing with success if you like it the way it is because once you start staining etc. you have to do it again every couple of years.

You could look at www.thompsonswaterseal.com We have used it on our deck many times throughout the years. My DH uses a paint sprayer to put it on. We have let our deck age over the years (no paint or stain) We seal it about every 2-3 years.
