Decorating Kitchen and Dining room tables.

I would like some ideas on what to put on my dining room or kitchen table at the end of the day when everyone is done eating and snacking.

In looking through various magazines all the tables are decorated with tableware, such as plates and glasses.

I would like some ideas as to what to place in the middle ie: flowers of the table or what some of have found looks nice.

A large clear, glass bowl filled with lemons add a burst of colour to a table, and offer a wonderful, subtle scent- great for summer.

I know it doesn't help you out right now, but throughout the holiday season I fill a large unetched crystal vase with clear water (brita) fill it half full with big, bouncy cranberries that I buy in bulk at Costco and then I put a floating candle in the centre and leave it on the kitchen table. The cranberries last for a week or so before you have to replace them.

At this time of the year, in my living room I have a big bowl on the living room coffee table filled with sand and seashells.

In the fall, I take the same bowl and fill it with pinecones (we have a tree so a plentiful supply!), a nice fall garland with grapes and ivy and those little orange pumpkins.

In the early spring I do rafia-type straw and marble eggs in pastel colours that I bought from Pier 1.

At Chrismas I do a Chrismas pot pourri with 3 large ornate, silver antique looking Christmas "balls".

Let us know if you come up with a neat idea!

What about a large bowl with decorative balls in it. winners and white rose have a lot of these balls.
If the table is round I would go with a round bowl. If it is square or rectanglar a squre or rectangular shallow dish will work best!
