Decorating with Natural Materials

Once again I thought that I would make use of our woods and gather branches for a wreath as well as branches to dress up our simple chandelier. I am really pleased with how easy it was. We decided this year not to spend money on a Christmas tree either but rather do a little pruning in our back woods. I have a hard time paying the prices requested at the local Christmas tree lot.

We are loving the look. It definitely fits into the Dr. Seuss category of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. But, you know what it feels...original and fun. I am getting tired of the commercial feel of Christmas and all the need to buy, buy, buy. So, where we can go natural, I figured we should do our part.

hello all,
Merry Christmas and all the Best in the New Year----or Happy Holidays whatever you like.

I love what you have done with the natural tree boughs----was it hard to do?? I love the smell too, but my apartment building does not allow us to have them inside for fire restrictions. I think I may do one for my window and hang it outside instead----he can't say much about that and I can still see it.

well i happen to love what you call your charlie brown xmas tree and what really matters is that its something that you and your family enjoy. I try and change a few things about my tree each year, added silver this year instead of gold but the our ornaments that mean alot still go up.

we just finished the tree last night. I find it quite cute but I am sure those people with full-looking trees will find it hilarious. I am calling it our Charlie Brown/Dr. Seuss Christmas tree. My son is not sold but my daughter is loving it. We have had so much fun with this. Our decorations have been collected over the last 15 years so they are a real mish-mash. But as my daughter said, I love the fact that we do not have an all white tree, or all red tree but we have our crazy tree with our personalized ornaments I guess that is what it is all about for us. Anyway, finally feeling like Christmas around here.
