I finished painting my daughter's bedroom. "Deep Caviar" is an interesting colour - I can't decide if it is black, dark brown or dark purple. Here it is:

My daughter is thrilled to pieces with her bedroom. Yes, sadiecat, she is a teenager, and all of the other teens I know want dark walls too. She likes that in low light the walls look pitch black. When her lights are out, you can't see your finger in front of your nose. We had lot of fun playing with her remote control spider in the dark - it has red lights for eyes. All we could see were those red eyes, zipping towards us - oops, sorry Elise!

I'm sure it is lovely, but it looks red on my monitor. I'm quite sick of this monitor, it seems only colours that contains no red or yellow in them actually shows up on this pile of garbage. But I applaud you anyway. I'm sure it's fabulous.

Dreamer, you're an amazingly fast painter!! Wow!!

The room looks really nice. Deep Caviar is a great colour, once you get over the fish egg connotation ;)

Please let us know what your daughter thinks of it when she gets home -- I'm sure she'll like it :)

I really like the way it turned out too...I can hardly wait for my daughter to get home today to see it! She and I picked the colour together. I actually like the starkness of the contrast with the ceiling. I guess I am a lover of stark!

I can't believe the transformation. On my screen it looks to be a very, very dark purple. The colour makes all of her furniture and accessories look 20 times more expensive, especially the chandelier.
You are remarkable!!!
I would dub it "The Nocturne Room"

Mambo, I am glad I did the whole room too...a feature wall would be lame by comparison to this drama.

Mdesing, I offered to buy crystals. She wants ripped black cheesecloth draped from the chandelier. I should have guessed that, right? The colour actually looks like the richest, blackest semi-sweet chocolate. Hmm. I am kind of hungry now.

Bluedenim - I really wanted a black bedroom when I was a kid! I finally got black wallpaper covered with pictures of "Art Nouveau" ladies...as close as my mother would come. I was resistant to painting, worrying about having to repaint before I sell this house. Then I realized - hey, I love this house! Why am I planning everything around selling it?

The rubber rat shot - a few spiders are visible too, if you look closely.

I also painted the star above her mirror, which was black.
