Did I make a BIG mistake painting my oak cabinets?

I have been "bugging" my husband for two years to paint these oak cabinets .  I am not a fan of oak and I felt it was too busy in this kitchen with the type of granite.  I originally posted on this forum about this when we first moved into this house two years ago.
Anyway, he finally agreed and we hired a company to spray the cabinet doors and bases.  I chose BM-white down to give it an antique white colour.  Not too bright, not too creamy yellow.  They just finished last night and I am feeling like this kitchen is SO BRIGHT!
Did I make a BIG mistake (don't tell my huband I asked you that).  When the black appliances "die" I hope to replace with stainless steel.
Thoughts?

Thank you for the positive feedback.  A full day has now passed and I am getting used to it.  I think the shock of the change was what made me worry.  When I look at the "before" pictures I remember how much I disliked the oak in this kitchen.
I really do appreciate your comments.  Thank you.
