We are thinking about tearing out the old brick interlock along the side of our house because it slants toward the house instead of away from the house, you see we had a bit of leaking last year. What is the best way to do this. We want to do it ourselves because it would probably cost too much to hire someone. Any advice would be great!!!!

then I think you need to take it ALL up, and make sure that the soil underneath is sloping away from your foundation. Then rebuild. Usually, the soil is contoured first, to make sure the water will run away. Then the gravel and sand put down and leveled and tamped hard, then the brick put on top. This is not a trivial job.
You COULD put in drainage to take whatever water would come close to your wall and carry it away -- all underneath of course.
Personally, if you have already something there, and you have leakage, I would pay the price and have someone come and do it properly. You may be able to cut the cost by doing the dismantling of existing stuff yourself, get someone to do the contouring, then relay the gravel, sand an brick yourself afterwards.
Do you plant to reuse the brick you take up ? OR buy new ?
If it slopes toward the house can you take up that part add some gravel and sand and then relay the bricks to bring the height up ? OR do the opposite, take some away from inder the bricks so the side away from the house is lower. I have no experience here, have only seen it laid by workers up the street. Is there a book you can get with info or a store that can help you ? Hope someone can help you out.
