I say paint it a nice bright white, it doesn't seem like the kinda room for the rich dark door, bright and light and happy I think. Your black door looks awesome at the front.

I love the look of your black front door, but think it might be too much of a contrast on the back door with those pale blue walls.

Thanks for the advice! I actually thought black might be too dark for the back door since the colours are quite light in the dining area. You can't see the back door from the front door, but you can see both from the living room. I think I'll keep it white for now! Thanks.
It all depends if you want to paint it black, can you see the back door from the front door ? personally I wouldn't make everything matchi matchi I see you have dark brown dining chairs how would that go with the black door, guess I have more questions than answers, to me having the back door white would be fine....hope this helps...jj
