Pinch pleats require a special curtain hook. Check out a fabric store or drapery store or maybe even Wal-Mart or Zellers.
I am not sure I am understanding your post. You have pinch pleats but want to have "minimal pleating".
Do you mean you want the area between each pleat flat?
What type of rod are you using ? Are there rings on the rod now ? similar to an I-beam rod?
Can you post a photo of the rod. :)
