yes it is nice to see the sun but I'm having more fun in my garage grooving to 80's tunes on Joe FM and sniffing my paint. I wasn't a "stoner" growing up so this is a whole new experience for me, hehe!
Another hockey game tonight so I will be a forum widow. I can't paint my next coat of Turret Stair until 7:00 p.m. because I have to let it dry 4 hours between coats.
Regarding posting pictures of my “office” ... it will depend on how daring I feel that day. Perhaps too many potential clues when you see all the AC/DC and Metallica posters on the walls. :D

did you have to remind me I wore such a monstrosity with my pirate shirt?
I can't type fast enough - I missed so much! I remember seeing Bryan Adams, the Spoons, Glass Tiger, Doug & the Slugs, Platinum Blonde, so many bands! The styles, music, drinking...
well I'm going to go put my hair in my banana clip & call it a night too! It's been fun - thanks:D :D
taped it on beta & watched it to death...probably still would if I could find the tape....
ON Beta even....you've outdone yourself....
I crown you....
Miss 1980!!!!!!!!!
Yup, the hockey game is over, I'd better go console my DH...dry his tears...it's down to game #7.
Thanks all...this was sooo much fun!
Instead of going to bed thinking about my bedroom's paint colour, I'll be dreaming of either Bon Jovi or John Taylor...or Don Johnson...or...ahhhhhhhhh the list is endless...
Thanks for the TRIP!
taped it on beta & watched it to death...probably still would if I could find the tape....
I remember going to see Rex Smith at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond (BC), he was doing an autograph session. It turned out so many screaming teenage girls showed up they had to cancel it for his safety. Instead, he stood on the roof and lip sync'd.
Just after you turn north from Jasper Avenue - in fact, almost on the curve. Rooms and Gardens is three stores down. Across the street from McElerhans.
I remember those jeans...and you call yourself a lady... Fancy Ass was the brand name ... I was shy and almost embarrassed to have that written on my butt.
Holy Flashback!!!

I'm hurting myself right now living in the past. This is so much fun!
I remember seeing those zipper jeans - and being intimidated!
My fav pair were like ripped jean shorts at the front...but all black spandex down the front, but jeans at the back...they were the BEST!
I still have my early 80's Swatch with a red plaid face and yellow straps.
Xanadou?? ha!
Hey does anyone remember a movie with Rex Smith as this guitar teacher who falls in love with a student, who's pretending to be older than she is...I remember that one...and I would watch it over & over...I think it was called Sooner or Later??
I had a pair of jeans with a zipper that went from top of my belly button to the top off my butt. I had to get those puppies zipped up BEFORE I started drinking baby duck!
Dreamer ... what is Agicam? I too have to say goodnight soon. Hockey game is now over!
I had a great studded belt, that I only threw away four years ago, I was so in love with it. I had the cutest little flat elf boots... one pair had with little studs.
and Footloose.
What about the whole "get physical" aerobic craze? I remember going to the gym with my pink spandex leotard/unitard thing and of course you had to have the matching headband and sweat bands!
Here's another 80's band - Loverboy
the other three Second Cup locations are Varscona, Calgary Trail (by Superstore) and Whyte at 104 Street (but only if it is too late to go to Varscona because I can't put up with the grime). I am lately of the south side though - just lived on this side of the river for the past four years.
I have started going to Rick's Grill lately, but usually only hit the Sorrentino's in St. Albert (which is where my siblings live). I love Japanese food, but my DP does not so I only go with my daughter.
I love the Italian Centre Shop and go there sometimes with my DB at lunch. I also like Sunterra at Lendrum for lazy suppers.
I like the High Street stores, too, and go to them when my daughter is with me - she still likes Elephants and we were happy to find Carole's again.
I better quit now and go berate my DP for the paint fumes.
those were the scaries. Remember them? White faces, raven black hair & shredded stockings- they listened to the Sex Pistols...
every time I flew home security was a nightmare between earrings, a bazillion belts & all those studs...could you imagine trying that post 9/11?
...you're killin me! LMAO!
I can remember stumbling after too much peach schapps...darn heels were sooo thin, got stuck in one of those grates, fell to the ground, I too had gloves and enuff bangles on to condition my fall, however, my fishnets got torn, but that looked even better over my spandex pants! (my blue mascara was waterproof tho', and never came off - ever)
Oh how I loved blue mascara, I forgot all about it!
What about white lacey ankle sock over top black nylons with black dress pumps -- can you say fashion crime!!
Agicam.
were my fav. till I had a reaction one night- swelled up bigger than my hair...almost popped my Madonna cross right off- Eyes swelled shut -neon blue mascara down to my fish net stocking'd knees, huge swollen frosted pink lips..ugly sight. Thank god for the one lace glove - it really helped with the itching:D
Okay, here goes ... I also love art and crafts and have much of this in my home. I like Second Cup better than Starbucks and don’t eat fast food. My FAVORITE restaurant is Sorrentino’s West End because I am a pasta fanatic but I was extremely disappointed when “Bruce” (the head chef) left to open a new restaurant in Riverbend (it is not quite the same). I could never do Atkins or South Beach.
I don’t like going anywhere expensive for the sake of it but would consider Jack’s Grill or Cafe Daville a “special” place to go. I love Indian food and Japanese. Can you tell I’m hungry?
I rarely go downtown but when I do I usually hit Desidero, Chintz, Notables, th Italian Centre and hopefully La Favorite ... otherwise I am a consummate south side girl.
Oh, I must stop ... I feel so exposed!!!
Miami Vice and the whole look that went with it.
Bruce Springsteen / The GoGos
What about the "Madonna" look? Shall I qualify it with the era 1983?
Shopping at Dalmys and Sweet Sixteen.
it is not enough to call yourself a lady... you must act like one.
I am waiting.
doh!!!
You guys are making me laugh!!!!
but I am just hitting the age when I wish high necks with ruffles around the chin were the height of fashion...
Hey, the pirate look isn't out! I hate to say it but my 14 year old daughter is wearing striped leg warmers and arm warmers!
down memory lane.
The pirate look! LOL...thanks for that visual!
ah...ya JR...hey primetime used to be good....you don't see Alexis on any reality show!
