well thanks...not that I intend to delete anything but on second thought...have made a few typos I had to correct and thought I had to send another post...oh well...I never claimed to be anything but a technical moron...ya live, ya learn!!
If you've created a post that you want to change - and it HAS to be yours' - go to that post, click the EDIT button (you have to be logged in) and you'll get an edit page.
At the top of this page you'll see instruction to delete. NOTE: most forums allow a user to delete their own posts, but not all (Special forums for ex).
Hope this helps,
J
hmmmmm technically, this is interesting...how the heck does one "delete" a post?

Nice new edit & quotes buttons will help us out with this. Thanks! But I too am optimistic - you can really feel everything coming back to normal. I can feel the happiness in the air!
I'm glad you like them luv2shop :D - and even more, I am glad everyone's feeling more relaxed again!

I think it would help to quote all nasty posts from now on, when we reply, in order to save the message so the "deleters" cannot hide. Then, the information will be there for you and you need not search.
Hopefully, there will be nothing at all to quote! I, at least, am optimistic.
It's a simple method isn't it?
I really hope it doesn't come to this sort of thing though. We have a saying about this kind of nastiness around here: "it's like poking a monkey in a cage". Eventually it escalates but it's hard to ignore.

Hi everyone. Just wanted everyone to know that there will be no more deleted posts by us. We had, by request, deleted some of the nastiest threads going - I thought it was probably a good thing so I was happy to do it.
In general, I'm happy to see that people's feelings on forum culture and interaction are based squarely on civil behaviour first and foremost. My feelings exactly.
Now if I understand correctly, people are creating nasty posts and then deleting them right away? Is this correct? Which Forum? How often?
With everyone's help I want to stop this silliness.
BTW Jazzie, thanks for posting those great pics...more & more I feel an insane urge to go buy one of those 2 by 2 dining tables...& your friends bust is fantastic! Were you the model?:D
You better believe that's me!!! :D
......is posting and deleting nastiness I would like to offer my sympathys to your family and friends for having such jerks in their midst!!!
There's been some nasty gashtly posts that have been deleted, and although we've caught most of them, that still doesn't excuse the behaviour that continues to gloom in the outskirts.
I hope this will be resolved soon, in the meantime Artsy and Dreamer are wildly decorating each others houses.
you get them with your slipper and I'll get them with my fandecks! I'll just make sure to use the section with the poopy colours so it doesn't get ruined! hehe
twist my arm!! Of course I will come, are you kidding?? This time I will leave the kids at home and we can do some serious shopping!! Or I can just bring my oldest to play with your little guy! They seemed to have alot of fun together. Just let me know when and I'll be there!
Thanks for the nice words. :)
.....about more deleted posts. It's that stupid fog around my head!!! I'm going to watch for them, with my left slipper in my hand ready to strike!!!! I love you guys, and miss all of you.
if the world was made up of people as kind as you we wouldn't be having this conversation!;) Doing my best to get back to Homesense..prepare yourself, I will be back with a vengeance...will you come?:D
continue still....and though I return here & there & try to ignore it- some days I'm just not in the mood. Others are much less tolerant all together. Some days when we are faced with heavy & serious real life issues - more ugliness is the last thing we need;)

I wasen't aware of any deleted posts...I have managed to catch the odd post here and there with regards to off topic "chatting" but I didn't realize it was much worse. I mean aside from decorman and his lovely comments!
I hope everything get's worked out and Artsy and Dreamer and anyone else that has stopped coming to the forum can return and we can get back to the fun we use to have! If there's anything I can do please let me know! I'm glad you're still here anyway!

about all the nastiness and ugliness. I just want it to go away and we can go back to 'the way we were' (sniff).
I was hoping that with time, feelings would heal and we could go back to having fun. I still feel the lingering 'walking on eggshells' atmosphere though. Can't we ignore the stinky bits?
I'm afraid to drag this out more...for I feel that most people on this forum do not need to be exposed to negativity...to them I apologize for what I am going to say.
It isn't the fact that a very few have expressed displeasure with off topic chats. Everyone has a right to express their opinions &/or needs.. It is the constant sarcastic reprimanding, scolding & down right insulting comments made & then deleted that are the issue here. To those who are unaware of these posts- all seems bizarre BUT not I or anyone of you would continue to frequent an environment where you leave yourself open to abuse. I don't believe anyone has the right to be down right mean...& then in their cowardice delete their insults- so they appear faultless in all of this. Therefore, in order to leave things in a state of peace for you very kind forum users some have chosen to retreat ( hopefully temporarily) in hopes of finding a resolution short of starting open confrontation, which I'm sure most of you would rather not be exposed to- nor deserve. So- speech over, everyone misses frequenting the forum & the wonderful imaginary friends they have made...hopefully all of this will be settled soon & we can resume the wonderful raport we had here until now.
That's right she's mooing as my understudy, while I'm out to the flea markets to get us a couple of old cow bells. I do miss her too!! Whenever I gave her a moo she just took it and ran with it. Come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dreamer is out mooing, I will take a message.
She's in & out still - Artsy seems to be gone :( don't even catch her lurking. Dreamer is in talks with Jason I believe from my spies, so maybe things will be resolved? Things are getting there - better than last week! Stick around Jazzie - AAN ,firsthomegirl and I need another Alias lover! We are a rare breed! :)
it seems there has been some issues with people getting upset about off topic "chatting" on the D&D boards. Unfortunately, since this happened some of the regulars haven't been back or have not come back as frequently...very sad really. I miss them and agree it just hasen't been the same.
she's not here-probably hiding in artsy's bushes again.
Aan, do you know? dyn? decorgirl?
