I'm considering this stove to replace my current electric stove:

I love the idea that it's dual-fuel, because my husband & I have always wanted a gas stove, but I've never cooked with a gas oven before. I currently have a convection oven, but I've never learned to cook with it, so this could be interesting! LOL
Does anyone have any comments on this stove? I love that it has the continuous grate on the top, but had hoped for a 5th burner. I can live without it, though, as I don't think I've ever cooked with all 4 burners on my stove more than once!
I need to find out of the front right burner can be used at a lower temperature. I understand that some of these stoves use this particular burner for bringing items to boil quickly, but they can't all be set for a low simmer.
TIA!

That's great that you made your decision! It looks like a nice range. I hope you have a blast making the pancakes with your daughter!
Thank you for your replies! We ended up with a free-standing stove, rather than a slide-in. It's a gas oven, instead of the dual-fuel, as well, and does have the 5th burner. I rarely cook with all 4 burners now, but having the griddle option for the middle burner was one of the draws for us. My 11yo daughter is looking forward to making pancakes right on the griddle, and she and I will be perusing our recipe books looking for things to try out in the new oven. She's just learning to cook, and I want to do everything I can to encourage it! LOL

We have a gas stove that is also convection (still with gas but with an electric fan). I love cooking with gas. I have tried the convection part but don't seem to notice any difference with my baking. I do have a middle (5th) burner for simmering but rarely use it. I just turn down the regular burners to low and that is good enough. Also, if you have larger pots/pans on the burners, it is hard to use all of the burners at one time unless the pots are small enough and it is very hard to use the other burners if you are using the simmer burner in the middle. I would not get the simmer (middle) burner next time - it is not worth the extra money.
Why don't you go to Frigidaire's website and contact them? They should be able to answer your questions. They will have your specs and you might be able to download a user's manual. It looks like a nice range (best of both worlds). I have never cooked with gas but we thought about getting one at one point. I am too lazy to clean grates lol! after having smooth electric cooktops for years. We are looking at a new induction cooktop now.
