I have a leather sofa and love seat in grey. The original finish is analine so you see the grain and I want to dye them dark brown. Has anyone ever tried this and how would you cure it so it doesnt transfer later?

This can be done by purchasing leather polish that can be easily availble from a local store. You can select color of your choice.

My sister changed a dark green leather couch to black with shoe polish! I sat on it many times and there was no transfer problem.

thanks, I appreciate it. I just got a digital camera and when I do it I'll post before and after.

A girlfirend bought the most wonderful leather couch in the most hideous colour at a garage sale. She had it dyed a medium brown and it is beautiful!

I'll ask her where and when she had it done and if there was any rub-off.
