We had lots of unused frames stored in our garage and I convinced my dad to turn one into an earring holder for me. We painted this frame white (it was a light wood) . My dad also had some sheet metal left over that he bought to cover the radiator. He spray painted it white with non-glossy metal paint and attached it to the frame. And viola! I guess this is more of a LYDDIFY (let your dad do it for you) than a DIY but hey, most of those earring are self-made, so that counts, right?

Love it. What a great idea! I'm going to have to consider giving that one a try. My daughter got her ears pierced about a year ago and although I recently bought a jewelry armoire for her room, I know she would enjoy having her earrings more handy and on display.
Do you think Home Depot would carry that metal?
