Edmonton weather - go figure

The weather here has been unseasonably warm. The forecast for today is 11! Not only does it feel like spring, but the tulips in my "hot" bed (southern exposure, close to the house) are coming up!

It's good to see you around the boards :) I hope your rehab is going well and that you're feeling better. I bet getting out into your beautiful garden will help lift your spirits... it'll be good for both your mind and your body :)

Thanks for posting the pic -- it makes me hopeful that spring will be here soon so I can plant my new bulbs and see if my hydrangea made it thorugh the winter (fingers crossed!!) We're also going to hopefully finish the landscaping in the backyard this spring/summer.

Is the plant in your picture a forsythia?? I don't know if I've ever seen one in real life, but there was an episode of Homefront where a few people cut forsythia branches and put them into vases of water in the basement to bloom, and they ended up with a huge ocean of yellow flowers :)

Second wave of flowers?!?! Mine are all buried under a few feet of snow!!

The closest thing I have to flowers are some bulbs I bought at Costco.

I can't decide which I hate more, winter or MS Word....

I will send you my number, just in case you have a minute while you are here. If you don't, I understand, and will remain grateful for the warm weather sent in honour of your visit.. I will still be counting on meeting you whenever I get to beautiful Victoria!

It's been rather unseasonable here too. Apparently, it's supposed to get up to 17 today! (Sorry Smoodgie!)

It IS Edmonton, after all. We are sure to be in the ice age in April, as usual. I expect a deluge after this respite. I think Mother Nature is just teasing me a bit, knowing how anxious I am to dig in the dirt.

Where I am, it's in the -30s with the wind chill and we have more snow now than we've had all winter.

Crap!!!! Stupid groundhog was SO wrong!!

Does winter ever end?????? :(
