Exterior Heritage Paint for Red Brick Home

My husband and I just bought an old red brick house and need some help with picking exterior paint colours. Currently our front summer porch is a light baby blue with white trim. I would like to re-paint the porch with heritage colours to go with the red brick. Any suggestions?

I have a red brick house and I've painted shutters BM Cromwell Gray HC103, trims Oxford White CC-30 BM, front door African Night 32-18 Pratt and Lambert.  The look is exactly what I was hoping for.  Good Luck~

This is what Country Life 1490 looks like, Lasalie. (click here)

And Ranchwood: (click here)

Love how black paint looks on this Victorian home.

Lasalle, do you think the Ranchwood CC500 would look good with a Country Life-1490 trim? Or would that be too dull?

I personally like a darker colour like Ranchwood rather than a white with red brick.

Another option to look at is BM Monroe Bisque HC26

Thank you Lasalle. I like the Ranchwood colour. What do you think that would that look like with a dark trim on a front porch? I will be painting the unattached garage the same colour, so I had better like it, because I hate painting and would hate to paint it again (haha) I will try posting pictures later.

Hello escott,

I personally love the look of a classic white porch against red brick. It always looks timeless. You may want to browse our curb appeal gallery (http://houseandhome.com/design/photo-gallery-curb-appeal-decorating) or read this article (http://houseandhome.com/design/giving-your-home-exterior-colour-facelift) for inspiration and ideas.

Good luck!

Without a picture it is hard to pick colours but this is what I can suggest.

For the front porch and trim Benjamin Moore Ranchwood CC500.

From the  Historical Colours Wilmington Tan HC34, Davenport Tan HC76 or Decatur Buff HC38.

For a front door colour I like blue with red brick, Newburyport Blue HC155.

Hope this helps. Bring paint chips home and look at colours at different times of the day as colours can vary.
