I'm getting a bit sick of this what has become an annual occurence. However I just read something a bit disturbing, if there is an election and the Conservatives loose I guess the Home Renovation Tax Credit will be just a figmant of our imagination and we won't be able to claim anything as it was never officially passed in a budget.

No, especially if I'm riding a bicycle.
Is there really a politician that you can actually trust out there ?

EXACTLY. Arizona!
Yes, all of them suck as far as I'm concerned.
Yesterday I heard a prominent Liberal saying that the tax credit would be on the agenda even if the government changed. I suspect they are well aware of its popularity.
To my mind the Liberals may even be prepared to be more generous in the long run - Conservatives tend to be ideologically opposed to this sort of thing anyway. Heaven knows they were dragged kicking and screaming into even acknowledging the extend of last fall's financial crisis.
Now, of course, if we are forced into an election (and it's looking that way) the Conservatives will be attempting to take credit for their timely handling of the economy. 'Twas ever thus in the realm of politics, however, no matter who we're talking about.
"The Conservatives are warning that a fall election would kill a popular tax credit that allows Canadians to recoup some of the money they spend on home renovations."
The opening line to that article is looking a lot like JOB SECURITY for the Conservatives, lol. I wonder how many people would be influenced by that if there were a vote?
