I watched a news segment on a tree farm that had developed hardwood trees with some sort of larger root system (?) which allowed them to grow faster.
They had a booth at the one of the Home/Garden shows this year. But I've forgotten their name ...does this sound familiar to anyone?
Any info would be appreciated ;)

that large root systems can conflict with things nearby. Driveways and sidewalks can get pushed up over time. It's also good to know the proximity of anything running underground like pipes and wiring when planting trees.
I am not sure what the tree is U mentioned, but I did a search on Floridata's website and found a list of fast growing trees for U. Maybe it is listed there.
