Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone out there feels the same as I do. I enjoy watching the H&H "feature home" segments. These homes are always beautiful. However, I do find it hard to draw any inspiration from them because they usually are of a different size and scale than an average house and have been furnished with very expensive items. I always think that it is much easier to decorate a home if you have a lot of money to spend. It's impossible to copy the look of a $50,000 kitchen on a budget of a few thousand.
I would like to see an H&H designer work with an average viewer's home, discuss what improvements could be made and show a step-by-step transformation (including the budget). I feel that this would be much more helpful to the majority of viewers and readers than the million dollar homes that we see now.

Karen, I couldn't agree more!!
While I appreciate the eye candy, I personally don't believe that they are capturing the realistic budget minded person's purchase power. My fear is that they will begin to lose viewers because it will become another "too rich for my blood" type of shows. There are too many on the market now that cover $5000 renovations to the coat closet type of programs.
Let's be realistic - I can certainly appreciate the higher end salary makers desire to decorate with top of the line product, but keep the average minded person in perspective, too. I'm married to a school teacher - we don't make $100,000 a year, and I have a feeling most of the viewers don't. Let's post a poll - it might be interesting to see where we all fit.
